‘Skip’ Lemmond
TERRELL — Funeral services for Anita “Skip” Lemmond, 64, of Royse City were held at 3:30 p.m., Sept. 9, at Restland’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Stroop officiating. Burial followed at Restland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lemmond lost her six-year battle with ovarian cancer on Sept. 4, 2009. She died at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 2, 1944, in Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Slusher and Anita Bell. In the early ‘80s, she was employed by All Pros Auto Care in Rowlett where she met and fell in love with her soul mate, Jeffrey Francis. In 1994, Skip began working with her now “office family” as the accounts manager at Bodin Concrete. She enjoyed her days there with some of her best friends and adoptive family for close to 15 years, as well as running her and Jeff’s home-based business, Texas Lawn and Landscape.
In addition to her devotion to work and her family, Skip was an avid clogging dancer. She taught lessons, formed and led several exhibition teams through the years, and was the Hospitality Committee chair for the National CLOG Convention for more than 20 years. Affectionately known as “Roadrunner” by her Rockwall motorcycle group, she also loved riding her Harley Davidson and was active in several charitable rides every year.
Survivors include her husband; two children, Lindsay (Mills) Steffe and Matthew Mills; and grandchildren Kaitlin LeVasseur (16), Jessica Mills (12) and Kylie Mills (5).

Christie Grissom
CONROE — Christie Lee (Burks) Grissom, our beloved mother, daughter, sister and MeMe joined her Father in heaven on Sept. 7, 2009.
Christie was born Oct. 6, 1970, in Dallas to James David and Wanda June (Pittman) Burks. Christie was a childhood resident of Royse City.
Christie was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her daughters, Jourdan and Lynsey Grissom of Conroe; her mother of Conroe; a sister, Tonia Brown of Conroe; grandchild J’Lynnd Kellow; nieces Cheska Johnson, Courtney Johnson and Taylor Brown; fiancé Richard Cates; and numerous other family and friends . Warren L. Frye, 41, of Royse City passed away Sept. 8, 2011.
He was born July 28, 1970, in Bedford, Va., to Ronnie and Avis Carl (Crouch) Frye. Warren worked in equipment sales. He was a former board member and coach of the Royse City Youth Association and Royse City Youth Baseball. Warren also served on the Royse City Parks & Recreation board and enjoyed coaching football. He attended First Baptist Church of Royse City. -
