ROYSE CITY — Students and educators will open the doors to classrooms at Royse City ISD for parents and community members to gain an inside look at the educational programs offered by our public schools during Texas Public Schools Week. “Public schools across the state are committed to laying the foundation for a solid education,” said Superintendent Randy Hancock. To get a first-hand look at how our students are being inspired to become future leaders, parents and community members are invited to Celebrate Texas Public Schools by participating in open house events. “
Texas Public Schools Week was established in 1950 by the Masonic Lodges of Texas to recognize contributions made by the state’s free system of education. Each year, the event has grown and it continues to be a meaningful way to showcase the many educational opportunities given to more than four million students attending Texas Public Schools.
Because of the busy and unique schedules of each campus, the Royse City ISD will celebrate the weeks of March 8-12 and March 22-26. See the timetable below for each campus.
Davis Elementary
March 9, 2010 – Parent Breakfast, 7:15 AM
March 10, 2010 – Parents and Grandparents - Eat Lunch with Your Student Day
March 11, 2010 – Fourth Grade Honor Choir will perform at the District Fine Arts Night, RCHS.
March 12, 2010 – Fourth Grade to attend “The Alamo” at Casa Manana Theater.
Library time will focus on Texas Authors and Stories.
Kindergarten and First Grade – Learn about the 2010 Census will take class surveys and chart the results.
Second Grade – Connect the 2010 Census to map skills and learn about famous Texans.
Third Grade – “It’s All About Us” Readers Theater, Map Study, and a Class Census.
