Helping Hands truck making home calls

CNHI

ROYSE CITY — Helping Hands’ truck is on the move and coming to neighborhoods soon.

As part of a new Thrift Store donor program, the Helping Hands truck will be in a neighborhood on a designated date from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. to pick up donations of furniture, clothing and household items for resale in the Rockwall and Royse City Thrift Stores.

Merchandise should be left at the curb. For pickup of large items, donors should make an appointment by calling 972-771-HELP. The agency cannot accept large appliances, but arrangements can be made for pickup.

Revenue from Thrift Store sales help fund the agency’s Assistance and Referral program, which provides help for county residents in critical need. Clients are provided assistance with utility and rent payments, food and clothing and household items.

A postcard announcing the pickup date will be mailed to residents in the selected neighborhood.

Please help your hometown charitable organization continue its mission to meet the needs of the less fortunate in Rockwall County by donating your usable unwanted merchandise. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
