The Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard celebrated their one year’s anniversary in September. They continue to increase in members and meet monthly at the Royse City Senior Citizen Center.
During the month of September the TCVHG held military honors for six funerals, two of them being on the same day.
The TCVHG attended the dedication of the Harry Herndon Intermediate School in Royse City. The Color Guard posted the colors and included Darwin Whiteside, Ed Taylor, Norman Seligman, and Brent Erickson. Shana Brown, principal, was presented a U. S. flag by Gene Allen, TCVHG president, on behalf of the group.
The Old Timers Parade for the City of Farmersville was led by the TCVHG on Saturday, October 3. Many attended and enjoyed coming together for the celebration.
The TCVHG meets the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Royse City Senior Citizen Center behind the fire department on Main Street.
Anyone who is interested in joining the Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard can contact Gene Allen at 972-635-9293.
