Lakeland founder Norma Morris presents her “Brain-based learning model” to attendees at the school’s “Denim and Diamonds” fundraiser at Rockwall’s Hilton Bella Harbor last Thursday night. Lakeland, the private Montessori school located near Union Valley, got a special endorsement at the event from former student Mackenzie Turner. Turner presented herself as proof that Montessori students can adapt well to public school at later grade levels. She is anticipated to be the Valedictorian of Royse City High School this year despite being a year younger than her classmates.
